We are communicating with the SAPD weekly on the status of crossing guards and we are trying to find community members to apply for the position at Saline Police Department. Crossing guards are paid employees who will go through a hiring process that includes an application, background check, interview, equipment issuance, and training. Thank you to our parents and caregivers for assisting the students to & from school and we are doing our best to keep students in school 5 days a week with the severe staff shortage. Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Woodland Meadows’ and Heritage Families: We have received several calls and emails with concerns about the congestion during arrival and dismissal times. We all need to work together and bring a lot of patience! The Woodland Meadows and Heritage campus serves over 1100 students every day. We have one main parking lot and entryway. During arrival and dismissal times, buses have the right of way. The community supported a bond that redesigned our drop off and pick up loops to foster smooth traffic flow. It created two additional entrances for families to use for drop off and pick up. The loops work well and families can use whichever loop is more convenient for them. For both Heritage and Woodland Meadows families, these loops have been designed for your convenience. More info about the loops can be found HERE and a map HERE. The parking lots should ONLY be used if:
Finally, I want to remind everyone that all of us, together, are working in partnership to help our young leaders learn and grow. We need to lead by example by being safe, responsible and respectful to one another. We need to remember that our students learn about appropriate behavior by watching us. It is absolutely unacceptable to use vulgarity or offensive hand gestures (flipping off, etc) toward anyone on our campus. Our staff is doing their very best to help everyone arrive safely in this congested parking lot. Thank you for your ongoing support.
