Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, Big thanks to our PTO for organizing our Fun Run. It was a beautiful day! Thank you to our supporters- those who came out to cheer on our students and those who donated! We will continue raising funds until October 1st. That can be done HERE. We are looking forward to a great week of Saline spirit as we approach Homecoming at the end of the week! In Partnership, Megan DeGrand Heritage Principal On the Heritage Horizon:
Help Support Saline Area Social Services: (New!) Take a look HERE. We will begin collecting on October 1st! Outdoor Lunch Seating Update: Last week we attempted to bring back outdoor seating at lunch. Due to inclement weather and number of volunteers per day, we were not able to get it up and running. If you can help out with this, please sign up HERE. Walk Zone Communication: The Saline School District has been working diligently with the Saline Police Department to find more crossing guards. We are communicating with the SAPD weekly on the status of crossing guards and we are trying to find community members to apply for the position at Saline Police Department. Crossing guards are paid employees who will go through a hiring process that includes an application, background check, interview, equipment issuance, and training. Community members interested in serving as a crossing guard should complete an application on the City of Saline website. Thank you to our parents and caregivers for assisting the students to & from school and we are doing our best to keep students in school 5 days a week with the severe staff shortage. Please see the attached map from the SAPD that provides an indication of where crossing guards are located. LINK TO MAP Information from Nurse Hervey:

Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, Wow- We did it! Our first traditional 5 day week since March 2020! Exhausted? Yes. Thrilled to be back at it? Yes, yes, yes! This week we will attempt to bring back outdoor seating at lunch. Two classes per lunch period will be assigned to eat outside for the week. Classes will rotate by week. In order to make this work and provide adequate supervision, we need 2 parents per day to supervise the tents. If you can help out with this, please sign up HERE. Thank you, to our PTO, for arranging this coverage. As another friendly reminder... If your child is attending a program/activity after school at Heritage, and it does not begin immediately after school (4:00 p.m.), please pick them up and wait with them until their activity begins. We do not have staff after 4:00 pm to monitor the students and this is not a service that Community Ed has built into the programming you signed up for. (Ex: First Lego League begins at 4:30 pm. Students will need parent/guardian supervision between 3:44 and 4:30 pm). After School Care is available through the Community Ed. page on the SAS website. Thanks for helping us keep our students safe. In Partnership, Megan DeGrand Heritage Principal On the Heritage Horizon:

Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, Thanks for another great week at Heritage! We love having your student(s) with us. Everyone is doing a fantastic job settling in. Thanks to our PTO for organizing our FIRST and BIGGEST fundraiser of the year- The Heritage Fun Run. The PTO is working to get the link/QR code up and running for the above flyer, but donations can be brought into classrooms and given to teachers by way of check/cash in a marked envelope (label "PTO/Fun Run" donation) as early as tomorrow, Monday 9/13. Thanks in advance for supporting us at Heritage! **Scroll down to the PTO section of this blogpost for information about PTO happenings (and our Kalahari event!). As a final note... Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, Thank you for a great first week of school! The joy and smiling eyes filling the halls was so refreshing to be a part of. Heritage students are back at building routines and relationships! We know these first few weeks can be tough as we all adjust to school routines and long days. New and different Covid protocols are an adjustment, too. Everyone is doing a great job and we appreciate your patience and support. Rest assured, dismissal will get easier. Thank you for pulling all the way around to the first space available in the loop. Your student will walk to where your vehicle stops. Our transportation department is doing an excellent job with hundreds of students and miles to cover. On time pick up and delivery home is on the horizon! Don’t forget: If you would like to order Heritage Spirit Wear from our PTO, orders are due Monday at midnight. More information HERE.
