Principal's Message: (New!)
Dear Families, It was wonderful having an opportunity to see many of you at Open House! We are excited for the first day of school on Monday- both for our virtual students and those coming in person! Washtenaw County is currently in the "HIGH" phase of COVID-19 transmission. We will be requiring and enforcing mask wearing for all students and staff. If a student forgets a mask, we will have an ample supply and will provide a new one. Students are not permitted to go to class without a mask. Mask breaks will occur at snack time, lunchtime, and recess. We expect higher than normal levels of traffic during the first week. Please be patient and use the parent drop-off loops and pull all the way forward allowing your child to exit the vehicle on the passenger side and walk along the sidewalk to the school. Please remember that the doors will open at 8:35am and only students will be allowed to enter the building. We will have staff positioned throughout the halls to assist each child in getting to the correct classroom and off to a great start. We are looking forward to a great year- We are excited for a full building on Monday morning and also for our students who will log into their virtual classrooms for the first time! Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, We are so excited to get this year started! Our staff has been working hard to welcome you to Heritage on Wednesday, August 25th for Open House. If you are not able to make it, we look forward to greeting our students on Monday, August 30th for our first day of the 2021/22 school year! This will be my second year as the principal of Heritage School and I feel so lucky to be surrounded by an amazing group of educators, students and families. Our newest 5th graders worked courageously through a difficult past school year. Our incoming fourth graders are coming from three wonderful early elementary schools in Saline. Additionally, we welcome some new 4th and 5th grade students to Saline Area Schools. To our virtual students- You are part of our team, too! Information on your registration in virtual courses is coming soon. Above all, we are so excited to gather as our 2021/22 Heritage Swarm of Students soon! It is my sincerest hope that this year is a positive social-emotional and academic experience for your Heritage student. Please reach out at [email protected] or 734.401.4101 if I can help you along the way. Meet Assistant Principal Cochran:(New!) Hello Students and Families! As I mentioned in my initial message to you all in July, it is an honor to serve as your new Assistant Principal this year at Heritage! Students, I am so excited to learn with and support you all in my role. The start of this year is a time to reflect and be grateful for being able to return to in-person learning five days a week. Heritage teachers and staff are a talented and passionate bunch, and have been busy planning and preparing. After such a challenging 2020-21 school year, we are eager to welcome students back to the building where we will focus on safety, learning, and social-emotional growth. Though this fall will look different from what many had hoped, I know this is going to be an amazing school year filled with fun, excitement and personal growth. Families, I look forward to partnering with you all in our collective efforts to support students. Please don't hesitate to reach out. Good luck and see you soon! Heritage In Person Toolkit:(New!)
