Message from Mrs. DeGrand: (New!) Dear Families, This is it... the final 5 days (and the last Heritage Highlight post of the 22/23 School Year)! It is our tradition to send the 5th graders off with a "Clap Out" as they leave Heritage for the last time and ready themselves for Saline Middle School over the summer. Woodland Meadows does something similar for their 3rd graders. This makes things congested and busy on the Heritage/Woodland campus! If you are a 5th grade parent/friend attending the "Clap Out", please consider parking at Liberty School and walking to our Heritage playground. This will make for a much easier entry and exit from the school. We look forward to seeing our 5th grade families around the playground "track" at 11:45 AM on Friday, June 9th. **Families that have medications in the office, please see the this letter from Nurse Hervey. Thank you for a wonderful year! Your support, feedback and kindness has been very much appreciated and valued. Our Heritage Staff hopes you have a relaxing summer. In partnership, Megan DeGrand
Acknowledging Pride Month: (New!) Within SAS and at Heritage, we believe that all students deserve to see themselves represented in books. In recognition of the LGBT+ community and the many individuals within that community, the Heritage Equity Team has put together this choice board for students to engage with in the next week. This board includes grade-appropriate historical information and children's picture books. There will be no direct, whole class lessons on any LGBT+ topics. During free time, students will have alternative options aside from the choice board, such as free reading. This is an optional resource for students and teachers. Some classrooms may not interact with this board. If you receive a similar message from your child's teacher, they likely have plans to have it accessible for their class. Please reach out with questions or concerns to Megan DeGrand or Cameron Cochran. 4th Grade ORCHESTRA Families: (New!) Welcome to the Heritage Orchestras! Next Tuesday (June 6th) at 6:30pm there will be an informational meeting for current 4th grade students that will be performing music using one of the following instruments at Heritage in the 2023-2024 school year:
