Message from Mrs. DeGrand: (New!) Dear Families, This past week's MSU tragedy has been a lot for anyone to process. It's not lost on me that many of you are and may be connected to or to someone at Michigan State University/East Lansing. My heart is very much connected to MSU and with you all during this time. Incidents like this spark conversations among students that may turn inappropriate rather quickly. Regardless of how or when threatening or inappropriate conversations impact the safety of our students and school community, we are prepared and will take things very seriously. As stated in Dr. Laatsch's Community Message HERE, every act, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, has consequences. In today’s world, there is never a time that a threat against an individual student, a group of students, or a building is a joke. Consequences may range from suspension to expulsion. Please take the time to clarify to your student(s) the importance of being careful, respectful and responsible in their word choice and communication with others. Additionally, tragedy and school violence is not easy to talk about. If you need support in navigating these difficult conversations, the resources below may be helpful: Finally, there are a couple of things to note involving student transportation:
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend and the week ahead! In partnership, Megan DeGrand
A Note of Thanks! (New!) Congratulations to the 4th graders on their music concerts last week! You did a terrific job! Many thanks to all of the families, teachers, and support staff that came out to support us. We also appreciated the families of the last concert that helped us put the cafeteria back together. Many thanks, Mrs. Hayes March is Reading Month Visiting Author: (New!)
