Principal's Message: (New!) Dear Families, If you would like to provide input for your child’s placement for the 2022-2023 school-year, please use the Google Forms listed below:
We hope you had a wonderful spring break and a great week ahead! In Partnership, Megan DeGrand Heritage School Principal On the Heritage Horizon:
Vision and Hearing: Week of April 4th: The Washtenaw County Health Department has brought to our attention that when they come to a building to provide a service, they consider the space/room they are in to be a clinical space, and as such, require masks to be worn while inside that space. This is consistent with the requirements in place in other clinical settings such as physician offices and urgent care settings. This impacts our hearing and vision screening planned after spring break. Heritage will need to follow the WCHD requirement of masking while they complete the hearing and vision screening. The initial screening process lasts about 5-10 minutes. Students who need to be re-evaluated may require more time. We recognize that some families may opt not to have their child wear a mask now that the school setting mandate has been changed. If you do not wish for your child to complete the screening process due to the masking requirement, please complete THIS FORM by Monday, April 4th. A copy of the purple hearing and vision screening information letter that was sent home with your child can be found HERE. Upcoming Holidays: At Heritage, we hope to support you in your traditions and value the partnership we have with our families. If your student needs accommodations during times of celebrations, please reach out to your student’s teacher. (For example, if your student is fasting we can provide an alternate location for them during lunchtime).
MSTEP Testing Info... HERE is the letter sent by Mr. Cochran regarding testing. Our spring testing windows begin in April. Our testing dates for the MSTEP have been finalized for the following dates:

Woodland Meadows and Heritage Parking Lot Exit Update: As many of you may know, the Saline Area School District has been working closely with the Saline Police Department to increase safety during arrival and dismissal times. The Saline Police Department has created school zone speed limits, reducing the speed limit on Woodland Drive from 30mph to 25mph during these times. (article here) Another hazard identified was the blind spot created by left turn traffic from our parking lot (intending to head west on Woodland Drive) for the traffic turning into the parking lot from Woodland Drive. This has resulted in car accidents and many “near miss” situations. The district is working in conjunction with the Saline Police Department in designating our parking lot exit for right turns only during arrival and dismissal times. This means that all traffic leaving the Woodland Meadows/Heritage parking lot MUST head east on Woodland Drive during these times. This change will go into effect on April 4, 2022 following Spring Break. If you need to access Ann Arbor- Saline road, we recommend you use either of our drop off loops. The West loop enters and exits directly onto Ann Arbor- Saline Rd. The east loop enters and exits at Weber-Blaess Dr. and you may turn left onto Woodland Drive from there. If you have questions or concerns please contact Rex Clary, Director of Operations [email protected].
